J.Crew Wishlist

IM BACKKKKK! I know you are just ooozing with excitement, right?? Well I have a pretty cool post to share today so you should be!!! First of all I want to mention that I received an email from Shabby Apple to be an affiliate of theirs. I love their products so I am more than happy to introduce it to you! So check out my left sidebar for the button that leads to their online store! I will do another post on this later, but you can go check it out now!!
On a second note: I am wayyyy behind on the photo challenge so all of those images are at the end of this post!
Third: There are only 5 DAYS until Christmas!!!
Fourth: I passed my views from last month :) and I have gotten about 20 more followers via GFC!! So grateful for you readers!!

And now on to the real post: MY J.Crew wishlist 2012!! Are you thinking "You're crazy girl! That stuff is too expensive." Probably, but if you live near central VA or western NC then you are in luck because you can go to the warehouse sales in Lynchburg Va or Asheville NC and get some AWESOME deals on J.Crew merchandise!!! But even if you aren't, it's always fun to dream!! Plus you can sometimes get great deals at the retail shops or outlets.

Shoes: It was hard for me to narrow it down to only 4 pairs but I tried to pick one in each style. I think they are all screaming my name! Which are your favorite??
Tan Suede Ankle Boots, Leopard Pumps, Bright Yellow Gold Dipped Ballet Flats, Pink Sperry Shearwater Boots

Accessories: A girls best friend :) I really want the chain link bracelet. I am also considering some similar ones that are much cheaper on Etsy.

Braided Fabric Bracelet, Navy Leather Hobo Bag, Colorblock Zip Wallet, Rhinestone Chain Link Bracelet

Outerwear: Gotta keep warm in style...no better way to do that then wear these!

Orange Schoolboy Blazer, Quilted Vest in Herringbone, Gray Peplum Jacket, Double Cloth Coat in Retro Jade

Tops and Bottoms: These are some great every day staples for my closet. Especially loving cardi's and cords this winter!

Tippi Cardigan in Vintage Kelly, Chiffon Dot Top in Navy, Classic Felted Wool Mini in Navy, Matchstick Cord in Sand

What's on your J.Crew wishlist??

Christmas in Teal

I think it's pretty much out there now that I LOVE TEAL! Even when it comes to Christmas decorations! So my hubby does not agree that all of our Christmas decorations should be teal, but I beg to differ. I would have a teal wonderland if I could. I didn't get a teal "wonderland" but I still managed to get my fair share of teal decorations since I did do most of the shopping :) Do you like branching out and doing different colors/styles for Christmas or are you the traditional (red, green, gold) type? Here are some beautiful decorations in teal that I dream of. I will be sure to post our actual decor so that you can compare.

and here are some spaces that do the teal christmas beautifully:

Days 5 & 6

Day 5: A special treat
I got a special treat at work yesterday. We had an all day client meeting so we took her to lunch and then stopped by Carytown Cupcakes. I got the oreo peanut butter one. I cannot even describe to you how good  it was. It has a whole oreo and spoon of peanut butter in the center.

Day 6: The Christmas Tree
I've had some requests to post our apartment decorations but it seems like they are showing up one at a time. So, here is the tree. We have multiple VT ornaments on it. I love sitting on the sofa cuddled up with the hubby while the tree lights up the room.

Looking forward to:

  1. Our birthday/anniversary trip to Williamsburg this weekend!
  2. Tomorrow is FRIDAY!
  3. The Christmas cards I ordered to arrive!
Need to:
  1. Catch up with friends
  2. Clean the apartment
  3. Get back to cooking real meals for dinner

Also, my Daddy's birthday is tomorrow so: Happy Birthday Daddy! Love you!

Day 2: Gingerbread Train

My in-laws came up to visit and take me and Tim out for lunch for his birthday (which is tomorrow!) Before lunch, we stopped by the Jefferson Hotel to see their christmas decorations. There were trees and wreaths and lights everywhere, but there was one thing that stood out: a very large gingerbread train! That is why this is the picture of the day. Can't wait to celebrate my husband's birthday tomorrow!

  • And coming soon to the blog: the Young House Love book signing and DIY projects inspired by the book!
  • Also, our apartment Christmas decorations and more decorations from the Jefferson.
  • GET EXCITED!

Day 2:
Gingerbread Train (it is made completely of cookies and candy!)

Happy Early Birthday Tim!

Photo Challenge! Day 1

Yay! I love excuses to take pictures. I found this on another blog that I follow and I couldn't resist signing up. I actually took a lot of pictures today of my Christmas decorations so I will have to choose from those.

What & How: Take one photo each day for the first 25 days of December and post it to your blog (or Facebook album or Flickr page, you get the idea). In this month of celebrations, there is always something new to see and document each day. The DPP is a fun way to challenge yourself creatively and share the results with your friends on a daily basis.
If you want to join here is the link to sign up: http://www.tredways.org/december-photo-project/

Day 1:

~Bowl filled with ornaments~

I found inspiration for this on Pinterest and figured it would be pretty easy to recreate. All you need is a glass bowl/vase and some ball ornaments. These were leftovers that we didn't have room for on the tree so it worked out perfectly. I love the mixture of colors and the sparkly/glossy/matte textures. It is now the centerpiece to our factory cart coffee table! What do you think?

p.s. If you look closely, you can see my reflection!

On another note, you will notice that I added snow to my blog :) I thought it was very festive! Is anyone else excited about the 25 days of Christmas on ABC Family? Elf is on tonight!

I ordered some really cute custom Christmas Cards from Walmart. I really want to show them off but then it wouldn't be a surprise to the people that get them! So that will have to wait. (But I will say they have CHEVRON on them :)

For this photo challenge: some days I will post only the photo and a description and some days I will incorporate it into my regular post! I hope you enjoy seeing them. Be sure to check back each day :)

Happy December!
XO Samantha
