May Mood Board Collaboration

Last month I announced a design collaboration that my friend Carissa started. If you missed that, you can see it {here}. This month the palette inspired me to create a chic ladies room board. If you would like to join in on the collaboration, let me know!! I hope you enjoy~

P.S. I get to choose the colors for June!!

Details:
Every month we will rotate choosing a color inspiration photo and all create a board based on it. It can be interior design, graphic design, fashion, etc. We will each post the boards on our blogs on the same day. Hopefully you will enjoy these inspiration filled posts. I know I am interested to see everyone's different styles and interpretations. You can click on the links to their blogs to see a full list of resources!

McCall's Bright Eclectic Office

The Lucky girl, McCall, won my bloggy friends giveaway and therefore, won a FREE MOOD BOARD design! So today I am sharing that with you!

I love when I have specific clients/friends to make a board for. It brings me out of my comfort zone and keeps me on a budget :) Do you want me to create one for you?

I could easily determine McCall's style from her blog but I wanted to see what space she wanted me to design.
McCall said: "I would love for the mood board to be done for my spare bedroom that is used as our office. This room acts not only as our office, but also is my craft room (sewing, blogging, illustrating, photography painting, etc) and music room. (piano, guitar) Welcome to apartment life."

I decided to add in a futon just in case they needed to use the space as a guest bedroom. I also wanted to incorporate lots of storage for all of her hobbies! The painted mason jars also make for a unique, inexpensive desk storage option (for pens, pencils, scissors, etc.)

Mood Board: Bedroom

I'm back for another Tuesday Mood Board Link-up! This week I decided to step outside of my teal comfort zone.

This is my global inspired bedroom. The rich textures and patterns give it a warmth that make for a very cozy resting place. I love using design-seeds as my starting place for inspiration. All of the main pieces are neutral so you could easily swap out the color scheme by replacing the accessories (art, pillows, pouf, blanket)

What do you think of this color palette? What are some essentials for your bedroom? If you missed  my previous mood boards, be sure to check those out! {here, here} Now that I am looking at this board, it makes me think of this blog! Don't you agree?

Resources:

Curtains: Target
Frames: Target
Heart Print: Field Trip Etsy Shop
Virginia Print: Yassi's Place Etsy Shop
Headboard: Target
Sconces: Shades of Light

Hope you are having a great week! I would love your feedback on the mood boards! What spaces/color schemes do you want to see? Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can! (which may be a few days but I promise I appreciate you!!)

Be Inspired: Bedrooms

I feel like my blog has not been a whole lot about design lately so I am going to FOCUS! What better way to start the new year than with BEDROOMS! Why? Well because it really is an important space in our homes. It could really determine your mood for the day. And also it is winter so I know I spend a little extra time curling up under the blankets. Some people want their bedrooms to be really soothing and calm, some want them to be bright and fun. Some might prefer something plain or very intricately detailed. However you envision your bedroom, you should really enjoy the space.
Bedrooms are a personal place in your home; one that most people that visit won't see. I think its a great room to incorporate family photos and things that evoke memories and emotions.
Here are some bedrooms that inspire me and that I would love to crawl up in the bed and nap in.
Wish I could design some like these:
Enjoy~

Here are some guest/kid bedrooms:

What is your favorite thing about these rooms? Headboard/fabrics/window treatments/bedside tables/lamps/rugs??

Hope you are having a great week :)

Day 3~VT Interior Design Student Series~Meredith

Today, I am going to talk about Meredith! Meredith also went on the Neocon/Fallingwater trip and I got to talk to her some, but I was really able to get to know her when I decided to do a new program that our IDEAS group started. It was an education program where we went to local schools to tell the students what Interior Design is. I was part of the group that prepared the presentations. We worked on the marketing side of this new program. Meredith led this half of the group. She was always making sure we were keeping on task.

Meredith is a very good designer. She always has a lot to bring to group discussions. She has a very unique design style and always comes up with fresh ideas that stand out. I also did this Sephora project that she is sharing with us. Meredith's design was without a doubt very creative and very different from everyone else's design. I love this project and I wish I had come up with it! I am trying to be less wordy and let the project speak for itself so here you go. Enjoy Meredith's Soap and Glory Pop-Up Sephora store!

Please show all of these girls some love and comment on what you like about their designs! Only nice words though :) 2 more girls left in this series!! Hope you are learning a lot about Interior Design.

P.S. Sorry I haven't posted this sooner. I've been at Highpoint Market :) I will be sharing more soon!
