Branding and Trends

*This post is strictly my opinions on these products, companies, etc. With that being said, I am very excited for this post because I certainly do have brands and trends that I am really into and stand behind!!! This could get pretty lengthy but I am going to try and stick to my favorites. I would love to get your opinion on my favorite brands/trends! Some of these may seem very stereotypical, but I truly have reasons for using and buying each one. (However, if I went into that I would be blogging all night.)

Oh and that exciting news that I had, well here it is: One of my best friends got ENGAGED this past Sunday :) Congrats Denise!!! So excited for you!

Organization

I am in no way OCD about things, but I do enjoy things being neat and tidy. And lately I am not feeling very organized. I started a DIY project this weekend that isn't going to get finished very soon. I am painting a hutch that my great aunt Eva gave me for my apartment at college. I really like it, but it is a little dated for my taste. So I thought I would give it a fresh look. Well my husband helped me sand and prime the top half yesterday and then I put 2 coats of paint on it. However, we were going to do the bottom half today and its been raining all day :( That means it will have to wait!! Which means the apartment is going to continue to be a mess. I feel like I need to be inspired to get organized so I obviously went to Pinterest. Let me know what you think.

Here are some organizing goals of mine:

1. clean out and reorganize cabinet under bathroom sink
2. organize itunes and iphoto on my computer
3. organize my scrapbooking stuff
4. get a hanging jewelry organizer
5. organize pots/pans in kitchen

A few side notes: 

1. I have some very exciting news to share soon about one of my BEST FRIENDS!! It's really hard to keep it a secret! 
2. Also, I tried a new recipe out tonight. My husband was kind of skeptical at first, but I we ended up really liking them! I made black bean cakes with tomato-corn salsa :) I will share it next time!
3. One last thing, I ordered a bubble necklace from here: http://www.thepokeadotshop.com/product/bubble-statement-necklace and I CAN'T WAIT for it to come!!
4. We got Season 4 of House yesterday, which completed our collection (until the final season 8 comes out)!!! Do you love House???

Fall...when the leaves turn maroon and orange!!

So I really thought that summer was my favorite season, but I have been eagerly waiting for fall to arrive. I don't know what it is, but I am just craving fall clothes, food, football, and weather!!! To me there is no better place to be in the fall than BLACKSBURG, VA! I left a piece of my heart there when I graduated. I knew that especially now that school is starting, I would miss not going back. Don't get me wrong, I love being married, my new job and being in Richmond. But if you went to school there, then you know what I am talking about. I want to share some of my favorite memories of fall at my home for 4 years. I can't wait to enjoy this fall in a whole different way. I know it won't be the same because I am not a student anymore and I am living in a city for the first time. That means I probably wont get to enjoy as many maroon and orange leaves, but believe me I will get the most out of this awesome season. Summer isn't over yet, but I have been making a fall bucket list that I want to share with you. This is to avoid it being December and me saying "I wish I had done             ."

Fall Bucket List

bake a pie completely from scratch (probably pumpkin)

make a leaf pile and play in it

find a pumpkin patch near Richmond and go to it

go on a hayride

take a nature walk and bring the camera

go camping (have to do this before it gets too cold)

pumpkin frap/latte- enough said!

make it to at least one Hokie football game

make pumpkin-chocolate ice cream
