2 years

Wow....could it possibly already be 2 years since the day my daddy walked me down the aisle to marry my best friend? That day is still so vivid and gives me a permanent smile when I think about it (which is often). I thank God for blessing me with this amazing man and this marriage.

Before I wrote this post, I decided to go back and read the posts from our anniversary last year. I participated in a 1st year of marriage series with Kalyn and we shared happiest moments, hardest moments, what we learned and a recap of how we celebrated our anniversaries.

It made me realize how different our second year has been. I don't think any year will ever be quite like the first. You go on your honeymoon and then start living together (and in a new city to me). I think we only had one night apart in our entire first year (when I went to Highpoint Mkt). Although we had been dating for 7 1/2 years I still learned so much about Tim. I really want to read the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman this year. I want to learn how to be an even better wife. And even though our marriage has been wonderful so far, its still needs constant attention. I can already see a difference in our independence from year 1 to year 2. We take more time for ourselves. I now have a gym membership so I do that about 3 nights a week. BUT that also makes our time together even more special. We have become a stronger team. We know what each other is good at and we divide things up based on that. A lot of our house projects have been fun because its a time for us to bond.

This anniversary is going to be just as exciting as the last! Although it falls on a Monday this year, we both are on staycation (because Veronica is coming to visit). And we also plan to uphold a few of the traditions from last year. I will definitely be getting our champagne flutes out to toast, wedding cards to reminisce and exchanging gifts. We also plan to have our Starbucks/donut breakfast but at home this year instead of the Berkeley. AND we can't forget the 2nd annual bacon festival :) We will have our celebratory dinner on Wednesday night of their visit and we're going to the Boathouse!!!!!

A lot has happened in the past year. A LOT!! We have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward too. I just wish Tim would take more pictures with me....
  • We did this little thing called BUYING A HOUSE
  • We got Artie!! (one of the best decisions we've made as a couple ;)
  • We found a church home and a church family
  • We bought a car
  • We were in some weddings (Olivia + Chad / Denise + Logan) and spectators of others (Michelle +Gerald/ Emily + Tyler).
  • Gabby took some family portraits of us (yes, Artie is our child)

I can't wait to kick off the 3rd year with my blog bestie (soon to be just bestie haha) I should have thousands of pics to share with you after.  I just hope it doesn't fly by too quickly because we have been planning this for so long.

She also is sharing some goals for the 3rd year and I think I might do that as well :) Will be back soon to share all of the festivities!! Here's to many more years of happiness! I love you Timothy!
